We Are Writer's Block

We Are Writer’s Block Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit literacy and performing arts organization founded in 2013 by CEO AJ McQueen. This organization was established to offer a platform and outlet for underprivileged youth and young adults ages 13-28 and has been doing so for the last nine years! In addition, we also, enthusiastically encourage the youth and young adults to positively express themselves through the elements of art. Writer’s Block has been on many major platforms, from National media network as ABC 13, Fox News, Great Day Houston, and many city-wide agencies spreading the knowledge and solutions of today’s struggles, while also giving hope to many communities throughout the city and never forgetting the mission that built the foundation of this organization, “The Pen Is Stronger Than The Gun”.

A Different Block: Back To School Drive

We want you to be a part of our annual “A Different Block,” school drive event! This year we'll be serving the Fifth Ward Community! We would love for you to help us by joining us to make 2022-2023, a school year to remember! Writer’s Block seeks the support of clear or mesh backpacks, school supplies, and monetary donations. We look forward to partnering with you to change lives one block at a time.
